Position:  Assistant care taker

Location: Highland Park, Sellersville, PA

Available:  June 2019

Compensation: Hourly Rate which will be agreed upon prior to hiring.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Plumbing or,

  • Carpentry or,

  • Electrical

Requirements:

  • Reliable, trust worthy individual who loves Jesus Christ and is willing to help with upkeep of the Park and Individual (and Spouse) may live on campus up to 9 months a year.  A minimum number of projects must be completed within the 9 months (each year) to maintain position. The minimum number of projects will be agreed upon between the Board of Directors and the applicant prior to hiring.   Position will be re-approved on a yearly basis.

 

  • Assistant Caretaker is responsible for owning and maintaining their own cottage and associated expenses associated with cottage ownership (if living on campus).

Position:  Volunteer Caretaker

Location: Highland Park, Sellersville, PA

Available:  September 2019 or earlier

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing:

    • Collection of mail and distributing of mail as appropriate

    • Turn down hot water heaters between rentals (in cottages and dorms) and turn up for incoming rentals

    • Monitor wells (2). Turn on back up well when needed.

    • Chlorinate wells as needed.

    • Maintain master key board for park owned buildings in a secure location.

    • Monitor trash dumpster for pick ups (weekly).

    • Monitor the sess pool and septic and call to get it pumped, as needed.

    • Maintain a list of items that need to be fixed and alert Buildings and Grounds Committee.

    • Blow out tabernacle, paths and pavilions prior to rentals.

    • Check all park owned buildings propane tanks and call to fill.

    • Monitoring oversight of campus building (turning off lights as needed), etc.

  • Spring:

    • Test all smoke alarms / carbon dioxide detectors in all camp owned buildings and replace batteries

    • Light stoves and heaters Evangel/Cottage 47

    • Light hot water heaters in all park owned

    • Put flags up in tabernacle.

    • Put up cottages signs on a yearly basis.

    • Put up dates for yearly camp meeting on sign.

  • Summer:

    • Read electric meters immediately after camp-meeting.

    • Responsible for oversight for of lawn mowing (obtaining volunteers, schedule, etc)

    • Mosquito control—spray for mosquitos a minimum of three times during the summer months.

  • Fall:

    • Winterize all park owned buildings (drain pipes, turn off water, water heaters, heaters, stoves).

    • Secure doors/ windows (lock if needed) on park owned buildings

    • Take down flags up in tabernacle.

    • Take down cottages signs.

  • Winter

    • When temperature drops low—turn on bathroom heaters in the dining hall (shut door) and turn them off again when temps rise.  Also turn on extra heater in dining hall (second one) to assure pipes don’t freeze.

Requirements:

  • Reliable, trust worthy individual who loves Jesus Christ and is willing to help with upkeep of the Park and an on-site point of contact. Individual (and Spouse) will live on campus year round. Caretaker is responsible for owning and maintaining their own cottage and associated expenses with cottage ownership. No compensation for the above activities. Role will be re- evaluated on a yearly basis.
